REWARDS IN RECONNECTING
The Advancement and Alumni Relations Office at Fleming College is now accepting nominations for the 2014 Premier’s Awards for outstanding college graduates. The awards provide Fleming College with an opportunity to recognize their graduates who demonstrate excellence in their chosen career and inspire others in their community.

Last year, alumnus Jon Popple (Police Foundations, 2001), was thrilled to receive a call from Fleming College to reveal that he was chosen as a 2013 Premier’s Award – Community Services nominee. Popple, along with 114 Premier’s Awards nominees from Ontario’s 24 colleges, was honoured for his outstanding career achievements at the Premier’s Awards Gala held in November 2013.

“The Premier’s Awards Gala was a memorable experience, one that I won’t soon forget,” expressed Popple about the event. “I am delighted to receive this prestigious honour by Fleming College and for the opportunities granted as a result of my nomination.”

Since the Premier’s Awards Gala in November, Popple has formed a new partnership with Fleming College as a member of their Police Foundations Advisory Committee. Popple adds that he is looking forward to reconnecting with Fleming College in 2014 and beyond.

Presented annually by Colleges Ontario, the Premier’s Awards honour six outstanding graduates in the following categories:

– Business

– Community Services

– Creative Arts and Design

– Health Sciences

– Technology

– Recent Graduate (Class of 2009 – 2013)

The awards celebrate graduate career success and honour the social and economic contribution that college graduates make to Ontario and around the world. Nominees must demonstrate remarkable career achievements that include making a significant contribution to their industry, profession and community. Humanitarian achievements are an asset but not a requirement. A Fleming College graduate from any program may be nominated.

Fleming College award finalists will be invited to attend the Premier’s Awards Gala on Monday, November 24, 2014 in Toronto where Colleges Ontario will announce the Premier’s Award winners from nominations submitted by Ontario’s 24 colleges.

The deadline to submit a Premier’s Award nomination package is Monday, March 31, 2014.

Nominations submitted after the deadline will be considered for next year’s awards. To nominate a deserving Fleming graduate for a 2014 Premier’s Award, please contact Fleming College Alumni Officer Paula Walton at paula.walton@flemingcollege.ca or 705-749-5530 ext. 1390.
