Academic Support 

Student Success Advising — Think of Student Success Advising as your home base for navigating college life. Advisors provide a welcoming, inclusive space where you can: 

  • Ease your transition into college
  • Talk through academic or personal concerns
  • Learn how to access campus services and policies
  • Set realistic academic goals
  • Connect with community supports when needed 

Advisors encourage students to reach out before challenges pile up so you can stay on track with confidence. 

Tutoring & Learning Skills — Fleming offers free tutoring and learning skills support to help you get the most out of your studies. 

  • Course-specific tutoring: Up to two hours a week, plus unlimited drop-in sessions with peer tutors
  • Learning strategies: Develop tools for time management, organization, study habits, group work, and presentations
  • One-on-one help: Work directly with a tutor for support with assignments, writing, math, or exam prep 

The Library — Our expert staff provide individual assistance, helping you plan your research strategy, find the best resources for your assignments, build correct citations, and understand Academic Integrity standards. Visit the Library website to access our services and resources:

  • Virtual Reference Desk: Drop-in for help via WebEx
  • AskON Chat: send a question for immediate chat help
  • Make a research appointment or attend a workshop

Career Services 

Your time at Fleming prepares you for what’s next. Career Services helps you explore career options, connect with employers, and feel career-ready. 

  • Job boards and virtual postings
  • Résumé and cover letter feedback
  • Interview preparation
  • One-on-one appointments with Career Educators
  • Workshops, employer presentations, networking events, and career fairs

Accessible Education Services 

Our Accessible Education Services team works with students with disabilities to create equitable learning opportunities. Supports may include academic accommodations, assistive technology, and strategies to reduce barriers. The goal is to ensure every student can succeed while building the skills and resources needed for college and beyond. 

Diversity & Inclusion Services 

Fleming aims to foster a campus environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging. Diversity and Inclusion Services provide: 

  • Support for students experiencing harassment, discrimination, or barriers related to their identity or human rights
  • Education for allies who want to grow their awareness and inclusive leadership skills
  • Leadership opportunities for students who want to take action and make a difference on campus 

Counselling Services 

College can bring challenges, and Fleming’s Counselling Services offer confidential, caring support when you need it most. 

  • Short-term counselling in a safe, solution-focused setting
  • Academic counselling for learning challenges, planning, and advocacy
  • Personal counselling to navigate stress, loss, identity, relationships, and balance
  • Disability-related accommodations to ensure equal access to programs and services 

Health Services 

Your health and wellness are priorities at Fleming. On-site nursing staff and part-time physicians provide a range of services, from preventative care to treatment and referrals. 

Topics include: 

  • Birth control and STI/HIV testing
  • Nutrition and lifestyle counselling
  • Mental wellness and substance use support
  • Immunizations and flu clinics 

Full-time students are automatically enrolled in the Student Health Plan, with options to opt out, add family members, or choose from flexible coverage plans. 

Indigenous Student Services
