Give the gift of learning with Fleming College Continuing Education
Peterborough ON – (Dec. 18, 2017) – Looking for a last minute Christmas gift for a loved one? Give the gift of learning with one of Fleming College’s Continuing Education courses.
Fleming College is offering new and returning courses that individuals can take to explore new hobbies or further their knowledge in particular study areas.
At Sutherland Campus in Peterborough, individuals can take bartending as well as cooking courses specializing in Indian or Italian cuisine. A new photography course taught by photographer Lydia Dotto – Wildlife, Ecotravel and Landscape – will explore wildlife and scenic photography. And the Art of Improv is a fun way to hone presentation skills along with awareness of situations and people. This course is taught by Daniel Matmor, an actor, writer, director and producer of theatre and film, who has worked with notables such as Stanley Kubrick and Robert Altman.
The Chainsaw operator course, ideal for farmers, hunters or anyone who might work in the outdoors, is now available at Cobourg Campus in addition to the Frost Campus. Wilderness Survival and Hike Leader/Leave No Trace certifications are also available in Lindsay.
Online courses combine a breadth of options with the convenience of learning from home. New this January, Fleming will offer a Small UAV Pilot Ground School course where participants learn to fly drones. Fleming is also introducing a Let’s Start Ojibwe course for those interested in Aboriginal languages. Italian, French and Japanese language courses are also available online while conversational Spanish and French are available in-class in Peterborough.
“Gifting an experience is a great way to provide memorable life moments, and the gift of learning is one that will always give back,” said David Francis, Dean of Flexible Delivery and Contract Training. “Our courses are taught by knowledgeable and experienced instructors and range from practical to foundational to fun.”
