Peterborough, ON (November 25, 2024) – Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and marks the beginning of a campaign known as the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence. This year’s theme is ‘Come Together, Act Now’, calling on Canadians to challenge social norms, attitudes and behaviours that contribute to gender-based violence.

Throughout the campaign, Fleming College invites the college community to follow Fleming’s social media channels for information about the signs of gender-based violence and where to reach out for support if needed.

Events during the campaign will take place at the Sutherland, Frost, and Haliburton campuses, and will include safety walks, residence tours, learning about campus and community resources and supports, White Ribbon Day, among other activities.
