Peterborough ON – (April 20, 2021) – With the ‘20/21 academic year nearing the end, it’s time to celebrate the incredible dedication and resilience demonstrated by students over the past year. The skills developed and goals accomplished by students in their experiential learning projects will be on display in the Innovation & Technology Showcase in partnership with Bell.
Out of a total of 66 business and technology student projects, 10 teams really impressed the judges through two rounds to make the cut. The top projects will make their final presentations virtually this week, and once the judges have deliberated and decided, the winners of this year’s Showcase will be announced in an exciting finale next week.

“Congratulations to the students for their hard work and commitment to their applied projects with industry and non-profit partners. I’m sure this will lay the groundwork for them for future innovations,” said Maureen Adamson, Fleming College President. “Also, a big thank you to Bell for their continued support of this wonderful event and the entrepreneurial spirit.”
This annual event showcases the creativity and fresh ideas that students bring to help industry and non-profit sponsors find innovative solutions to business and technology challenges. The past year has presented unique and unprecedented uncertainties, and Fleming students have risen to the challenge. That includes doing a lot of their work and meetings online, and they will also be presenting their projects online this year.
In addition to academic credits that students earn for their work on real-world problems, there’s also $9,000 in prize money for the top teams. For more information about the projects and Showcase events on April 22 & 29, please visit the website.
