Fleming College participating in Peterborough Seniors Month

Seniors Month in Peterborough officially launched at City Hall on May 24 with music, dignitaries and a special flag-raising ceremony.

Celebrated throughout June, Seniors Month includes a series of events happening throughout the City and County of Peterborough with the theme Rewire Your Thinking About Aging.

Fleming College will be participating with its own event on Thursday, June 20, Growing Older and Living Large, which will consist of a series of workshops followed by a social event.

Growing Older and Living Large takes place from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sutherland Campus, 599 Brealey Dr., Peterborough. Admission and parking is free of charge.

Event agenda

The workshops take place from 3 to 6 p.m. with topics such as health, fitness, dementia care, mental health, nutrition, lifestyle, and beauty. The workshops will also include discussion forums, demonstrations, and an Expressive Arts open studio.

From 7 to 9 p.m. it’s an opportunity to meet new friends, dance and enjoy the sounds of the band Knight Shift.
