Fleming College Opens Residence at Severn Court

Published

Peterborough ON – (September 6, 2018) – Fleming College is pleased to announce a new partnership with Campus Living Centres, a private residence operator in Peterborough, Ontario, that will provide more residence space for first-year students attending Fleming.

“The opportunity to work with Campus Living Centres to provide off-campus housing for our students is a new and exciting endeavour for Fleming College,” said Travis Doak, Director of Housing, Food, Conference Services and Student Conduct at Fleming College. “We believe this partnership will benefit our students and allow for future potential growth in housing options.”

The Housing Services department at Fleming took possession of the building on Wilfred Drive last week. The building will house an additional 48 beds off-campus at the Severn Court property located a short walk from the College.

“Fleming’s Housing brand is very important to students and parents when deciding their College choice, many of whom are moving away from home for the first time,” continued Doak. “Students living in our building at Severn Court will enjoy the full residence experience that students living on-campus are offered, which supports personal development and academic success.”

The building will continue to be operated by Campus Living Centres, with building and services managed by Fleming’s Housing Service department.

“Severn Court has always been a destination for Fleming Students,” said Brian Freeman, Senior Vice President, Campus Living Centres. ”With this formalized arrangement, we are excited to work more closely with the College to help ensure the success and wellbeing of its students and our residents. We are pleased to be given the opportunity to house students in partnership with Fleming College’s Housing Department and are looking forward to strengthening our ties with the campus community”.
