Fleming College Opens Doors To The New Cobourg Learning Centre

Published

Fleming College has officially opened the doors of a new educational facility that will attract more students and train more workers in the heart of Northumberland County.

Positioned just outside Cobourg’s downtown core, the Cobourg Learning Centre is a 3,325 square-foot facility located at 609 William St.

The Learning Centre will host Fleming’s established programs like Academic Upgrading, Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada, Corporate Training and continuing education classes.

“Programs like these are the bedrock for developing and maintaining a viable, skilled workforce in the Northumberland community,” said Fleming College President Maureen Adamson. “Fleming has had a presence in Cobourg for many years, and we are delighted to maintain that presence and be an important part of the catchment area for Cobourg and Northumberland for years to come.”

From left, Fleming College Chair Fred Clifford, Cobourg Mayor John Henderson, Northumberland-Peterborough South MPP David Piccini and Fleming College President Maureen Adamson officially open the doors at the Cobourg Learning Centre.

“This is a fantastic step forward for Fleming College,” said Board Chair Fred Clifford. “This new facility has a tremendous impact on our ability to offer Fleming’s outstanding programs to more people in the Northumberland region.”

President Adamson and Chair Clifford were joined at a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday, April 27, 2022, by Cobourg Mayor John Henderson and Northumberland-Peterborough South MPP David Piccini.
