CICE students finalists in Special Olympics contest
Peterborough ON – (May 15, 2014) – Students in Fleming College’s Community Integration Through Cooperative Education (CICE) program are asking for the Peterborough community’s help to Spread the Word to End the Word.
The CICE students have been chosen as finalists in the Spread the Word to End the Word – Special Olympics Campaign contest. The Spread the Word to End the Word campaign encourages people to pledge to stop using the word “retard” with a goal to create more accepting attitudes and communities for all people.
The students, with the help of faculty and staff, created a short video that asks individuals to stop using the R-word. How can you help? Watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNqoYr5cpkA&feature=youtu.be, and view it as many times as you can between now and May 27, 2014.
The video with the most hits will win the contest. The winning video will be played in movie theatres across Ontario and the students will be invited to attend a special event to celebrate their win. Support the CICE students – Spread the Word to End the Word!
