Across-the-board improvements in student satisfaction levels at Fleming College
Peterborough ON – (April 23, 2015) – Fleming College has seen an upward trend in student satisfaction with the quality of its programs, service areas, and facilities, results from a province-wide survey show.
The Key Performance Indicator (KPI) survey measures student and graduate satisfaction in a variety of categories, and is administered across the Ontario college system each year.
Along with year-over-year improvements at the college, Fleming is also performing better than the provincial average on a number of fronts.
“This is particularly good news as we have worked diligently across schools, service areas and departments to improve the level of student satisfaction at Fleming,” said Fleming College President Tony Tilly.
Here are some of the highlights (please note that the figures quoted are the percentages of students who responded very satisfied/satisfied):
* Overall student satisfaction at Fleming is 80.3%, well above the provincial average of 76.2%.
* At 93.2%, Fleming ranks third in Ontario for employer satisfaction with our graduates.
* The overall student satisfaction rate for college facilities/resources is 80.6%, above the provincial average of 74.4%
* The level of student satisfaction with the quality of college services is at 69.3% versus the provincial average of 63.8%. Fleming’s results show a 4% increase over 2014.
* There was an increase in student satisfaction in 19 of 23 service areas/facilities categories, with another three categories maintaining satisfaction levels from 2014.
Student satisfaction with the quality of programs and learning experiences at the college increased in all categories. Lab and shop facilities, recreation facilities, and the general condition of the buildings and campus grounds scored the highest satisfaction ratings within the service area/facilities categories.
“I would like to thank all Fleming employees for the work they do every day to teach, guide, and assist our students. It truly makes a difference, as you can clearly see from these results,” said President Tilly. “The opening of the Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre and the Fleming Sport Complex also illustrate the direct and positive impact these state-of-the-art facilities have on the levels of student satisfaction.”
