Frost Student Town Hall 2024

To All Frost Campus Students:

Thank you for meeting with President Maureen Adamson and members of Fleming’s senior management team on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024. Your honesty and valuable suggestions for improvement will help shape the future of Frost Campus.

Based on Friday afternoon’s session, it has come to our attention that there has been misinformation shared across the student body at the Frost Campus.

Below please find the relevant frequently asked questions that we heard from you.

Is it true that the changes to the Registrarial services at the Frost Campus will reduce services to students?

No. Students will continue to have access to in-person support services at the Frost Campus with the intention to improve these services over time. There will always be in-person services at the Frost Campus.

Is it true that moving some Registrarial services to the Sutherland Campus will require the Frost Campus students to travel to the Sutherland Campus for assistance?

No. Students at Frost Campus will not be required to travel beyond their campus for Registrarial services.

Will inter-campus transportation between the Frost and Sutherland Campus be available?

This is a matter that is within the purview of the student associations at each campus. Fleming SAC is in the process of developing a solution for all students.

Will academic programs be cut at the Frost Campus by 50% by March 4?

No. At no time has a 50% reduction in academic programs at the Frost Campus been discussed.

Does money from the Frost Campus get invested at the Sutherland Campus?

No. All revenue is consolidated within the Fleming College enterprise. Investment and spending decisions are made by the Senior Management Team, and are informed by faculty, staff and stakeholders.

Are food services available after 4:30 p.m. at the Frost Campus?

Hot food services ends at 4:30 p.m. but there are refrigerated vending machines available after 4:30 p.m. We are currently exploring extended hot food services at the Frost Campus.

Do Security calls filter through the Sutherland Campus?

There is response available 24-7 that is shared between both campuses.
