Scholarships and Bursaries
Gertrude, a career housewife, and mother, was a woman of many talents. Am accomplished pianist and piano teacher, as well as a competitive athlete, she excelled in tennis, badminton, and curling. Her passion was golf and a thirty-year-plus member of the Toronto Ladies Golf Club, she played into her nineties. A longtime resident of Toronto, Gertrude ended her days at Royal Gardens in Peterborough, April 20th, 2002. This bursary was donated in recognition of the highly competent and compassionate care she received from the Gardens staff-several of whom were Fleming College graduates and became her friends.
Awarded to a domestic full-time student registered in the Personal Support Worker Program at the Peterborough campus who demonstrates financial need.
* Student must have resided in Ontario for twelve months prior to beginning their post-secondary studies.
