John McQuade

John McQuade is an academic, photographer and contemplative. He is completing a PhD at York University on the photographer Edward Weston. John has taught at many educational institutions including Trent University, York University, and the Omega Institute. He is the founder of Nalanda Miksang Contemplative Photography. Miksang is a Tibetan word that translates as good eye. He has also published two contemplative photography books, Looking, Seeing and Heart of Photography. John presents contemplative photography through many institutions, camera clubs and online. He is a practicing Buddhist in the Shambhala tradition and is a certified meditation instructor.
