Enrol in Sensations of Meditation - Sound Bath & Mala Making Workshop

Course Code: ARTS2547

There are many ways to pursue the profound benefits of meditation. This workshop features two independent and effective approaches. Especially helpful for those who might enjoy a tactile component to help anchor wandering thoughts during meditation, is the use of a mala. A mala is a strand of 108 beads that one progressively fingers through while repeating a mantra, affirmation, or seed sound during their practice. Learn the symbolism and anatomy of the mala, and then create your own, customized from a selection of wood, crystal, and ornamental beads (partly in kit form/partly free-choice, to avoid shared contact of materials), concluding with a sampling of both traditional and contemporary applications using your finished creation. Experience the deeply restorative benefits of sound to aid meditation through a technique referred to as a sound bath. An eclectic array of specialized instruments, including quartz crystal and Himalayan singing bowls, crystal harp, quartz tuning forks, French Koshi Chimes, and other unique sound tools are played to surround you in an experiential sound-scape while you rest laying down in supported comfort, resulting in deep relaxation and restoration for the body and mind. Instruction will provide a variety of meditation techniques to inspire a sustainable meditation practice.
