Course Code: ARTS2752
This course explores fundamentals of 3D geometric art via hands-on models, a survey of historical and contemporary fine art, class constructions, and discussions. You will make simple polyhedral models and learn how these structures can be a basis for art and design. (Artists from Leonardo da Vinci and Albrecht Durer to M.C. Escher and Olafur Eliasson have found many ways to incorporate polyhedra into fine art.) The course emphasis will be on developing understanding and visualization skills through simple models. The mathematical ideas will be studied intuitively, so there are no formal math prerequisites.
A $25 material fee payable to the instructor will be needed on your first day of class
