Gain an understanding of the pathogenesis of disease in the human body. You will study the underlying concepts of homeostasis, cellular changes, inflammation, infection and abnormal responses. Examine basic concepts of fluid and electrolytes. Study acid-base balance and how imbalances can promote disorder in the body. Examined common diagnostic tests used to diagnose disease and prognostic outcomes. We will discuss specific diseases and disorders using a systems approach, where you will apply the concepts you have learned to understand the effect on the structure and functioning of the human body.
