This course will start with an overview of GPS, history of GPS and GPS Applications. It will cover GPS Fundamentals of Satellite Navigation (How GPS Works, GPS Signal Structure, GPS and Time, Pseudo-ranging, Carrier Phase Ranging, Error Budget, Differencing) Also covered will be types of Receivers, Geoid Modeling, Vertical Positioning, Mission Planning, Glonass System, and GPS Markets and Applications. The course will finish with future trends in GPS. And introductory course for Geographic Information Systems or experience working with shapefiles and an understanding of datums, projections and vector data model is recommended before taking this course.
