Fibre Arts - Natural Dyeing - Madder, Marigold, Indigo & More

Create a rainbow of colours from natural dye. Learn the basic techniques of dyeing fibre using pigment from flowers, bark, roots and more. You will use red, yellow and blue natural dyes, overdye and modify to add more colours, plus learn how to create patterns and prints. In this course you will collectively dye a selection of provided yarns and fabrics, enough for 3-5 small projects as well as samples for a dye journal. You may also bring a quantity of your own fibres to dye and purchase an additional dye kit.
A $125 material fee payable to the instructor will be needed on your first day of class
Material fee includes dye journal with recipes, yarn, fabric and dye chemicals sufficient for supplied fibres.
