This course reviews principles and managerial implications of employment law, and includes the formation, terms, regulation and termination of the employment relationship. Topics include: source of employment law, whether individuals are employees or independent contractors, discrimination and human rights legislation, employment standards legislation, the duties and responsibilities of employees, the duties and responsibilities of employers, the formation of the employment contract, termination of employment, wrongful dismissal, and where employment related information can be found on the Internet.
