Learn the fundamentals of microcontroller firmware development using the C programming language. You will learn about the compilation process, variables, data types, operators, branches, loops, functions, arrays, pointers, data structures, interrupt handling, and debugging. You will also discover how to use a source code version control system for collaborative firmware development.

This course is delivered online in an asynchronous format. Each course can therefore be completed at your own pace and on your own schedule, with submission of the final applied project within a 2-month window (before the end date of the course). Your facilitator may schedule synchronous check-in sessions throughout the course, based on student need and availablility, and will communicate these plans directly with learners. There is an additional cost of approximately $60 to $190 for specific instructional supplies for the applied project. Some supplies can be reused for multiple courses. Details will be sent by email upon registration.
