Ceramics - Coiling & Terra Sigillata

Course Code: ARTS2536

Coiling is an ancient technique embraced by contemporary potters for creating works of immense power. There is a freedom in building with coils that can be as inventive or formal, spontaneous or disciplined as the maker chooses. Conducive to working large, the clay as well as your limits will be challenged to stretch, with several projects progressing simultaneously. Learn to make terra sigillata and explore integrating form with this sensuous surface treatment. Additional clay will be available for purchase at a cost of $25 from the school, which includes glazing and firing. Instruction is suitable for all levels of experience.
