This course will introduce the student to basic health and nutrition principles that promote a lifestyle of wellness. Health promotion and education may influence a lifestyle change from negative high risk behaviours to positive ones. Nutrition plays a significant role in promoting and maintaining health and preventing disease. Obesity and chronic diseases influenced by diet are major nutritional concerns facing Canadians of all ages and walks of life. Nutritional needs and diet modifications across the lifespan will be outlined. (NO-DS4063)
