New Orientation event welcomes students to Fleming College

Peterborough ON – (Aug. 28, 2014) – Fleming College’s school year will kick off with a new orientation event for incoming students.

The Fleming KO (Knights Orientation) features a greater focus on school spirit, creating a memorable welcome for new students. The event will take place throughout the day on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at the Fleming Sport Complex (rain or shine).

Here is the full schedule of events:

– 12:30 p.m. – Knight Induction Ceremony: the incoming class will be piped onto the sports fields and will be officially welcomed to Fleming College;
– 1:30 – End Zone Party: barbecue, giveaways, games, and bubble soccer;
– 2 p.m. – President Tony Tilly  to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge*;
– 3 p.m. – Pep Rally: an opportunity for students to show their Fleming pride as the Fleming Knights women’s soccer team prepares to take on the Trent Excalibur;
– 3:30 p.m. – Knights Women’s Soccer Game: the inaugural Fleming vs. Trent Orientation Match-up;
– 7-10 p.m. – Concert on the Fields: opening band BPM KREW and headliner Tupper Ware Remix Party

*Please note at 2 p.m. (as mentioned above and taking place during the End Zone Party) Fleming College President Tony Tilly will take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. President Tilly will be making a donation to the ALS Society and a donation jar will be set up at the event to collect further donations.
