Alumnus of Distinction Award presented to vibrant local leader

dsc_0081-resizePeterborough ON – (Aug. 23, 2017) – Fleming College is pleased to announce that Tracey Randall, a Tourism and Transportation graduate from the Class of 1988, is the recipient of the 2017 Alumnus of Distinction Award.

This prestigious award is given to an alumnus who attains outstanding career success and professional achievement. As the General Manager of Musicfest Peterborough, Randall’s vibrant personality, passion for community development, and commitment to excellence joins community friends and tourists together for free summer concerts in Del Crary Park, Peterborough. Her remarkable leadership helps to generate millions of tourism dollars annually for the city.

Randall’s international experience in leadership roles – on the Olympic circuit, volunteer contributions in Zambia, and event management at Unilever Canada – have fuelled her ability to become an accomplished and innovative event management professional in corporate, community, and volunteer settings.

She is a Board Director for Peterborough Economic Development and has assisted with Women’s Professional Golf Association tours, the PanAm Games, and The National Ballet of Canada. Randall is an excellent mentor for Fleming College students and alumni and often participates as a classroom guest speaker and student career event participate.

In 2016, Randall was honoured as a Premier’s Awards Business nominee for outstanding college graduates and a Women in Business nominee for excellence in endeavours that benefit the Peterborough area.

tracey-randallUnder Randall’s leadership, Festivals and Events Ontario recognized Peterborough Musicfest as a Top 100 Festival in 2015 and the 2016 Economic Impact Study revealed that Musicfest provides a $4.2 million boost to the region through hotels, restaurants and shopping, with 125,000 attendees each year.

Fleming College will present the 2017 Alumnus of Distinction Award to Tracey Randall at “Fleming Night at Musicfest” on Saturday, Aug. 26 at Del Crary Park, Peterborough.  The community is invited to attend and honour Randall as well as celebrate Fleming College’s 50th anniversary.
