Published

The fundraising campaign for Fleming College’s Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre (KTTC) today received a boost with a donation of $10,000 from RBC.

RBC made the cheque presentation to the Building Skills Shaping Futures campaign at the construction site of the KTTC.

“RBC is proud to make this commitment to the Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre at Fleming College and we are confident that with this donation, the Centre will do great work to ensure we have skilled trade workers for today and tomorrow,” said Graeme Ross, Vice President, Dominion Securities, RBC. “Our support is not only a testament to our confidence in Fleming College, but RBC’s belief that investing in trade and technology programs that continue to support industry is both the smart thing and the right thing to do.”

The KTTC is currently under construction at the Sutherland Campus (599 Brealey Dr.). It is scheduled to open in September 2014 and will house Fleming’s trades and technology programs. The fundraising campaign aims to raise $1 million with funds earmarked for infrastructure and capital equipment.

“This generous donation from RBC will help to ensure Fleming students are learning on the newest technology and equipment, giving them a distinct advantage once they graduate,” said Jay Amer, Co-Chair of the KTTC’s fundraising campaign.

“Thank you to RBC for recognizing the value of our trades and technology industries. Fleming graduates will be ready to move into the workforce, already highly skilled and familiar with the latest trends in the industry.” added Campaign Co-Chair Craig McFarlane.
