HSTA Faculty Art Auction
Fleming College’s Haliburton Campus will host the annual Haliburton School of The Arts (HSTA) Faculty Art Auction on Aug. 8, 2013.
There will be many unique works of art up for bidding in both live and silent auctions. All art has been created and generously donated by artists that are, or have been, members of the faculty at HSTA.
In the past works have been donated by artists such as John Leonard, Rod Prouse, Rob Stimpson, John Willard, Susan Watson-Ellis, Sheila Mahut and Susan Fisher. All proceeds from the Art Auction are directed to bursaries and scholarships for students attending arts programs at the Haliburton Campus.
“As a recipient of the Haliburton Friends of Fleming Scholarship I was able to further my education in the arts and explore my medium. I am enormously grateful for the help given to me by ‘the Friends’ which has been critical to pursing my career in arts education,” says Bryce Petersen, a Glassblowing Certificate Graduate and Artist Blacksmithing Certificate Graduate.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with a preview of the auction items. The live auction takes place at 7 p.m. A number of silent auction items will also be available to bid on throughout the event.
Admission is free and the auction is open to the public. The campus is located at 297 College Dr. in Haliburton.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early to browse through the items and find a seat at the auction. As in previous years, organizers anticipate it will be standing room only. All auction purchases are payable by Visa, MasterCard, cash or cheque.
