Fleming Phoenix Loggersports Hosts 39th Annual Competition

Lindsay, ON (November 2, 2023) – The Fleming Phoenix Loggersports team is hosting a competition that’s a cut above the rest.

The team is hosting the 39th annual Loggersports competition on Saturday, November 4 at the Frost Campus in Lindsay and members of the men and women’s team are pumped to put their lumberjacking skills to the test.

Admission to the competition is free and members of the public are invited to come out see events that include log throwing, wood chopping, pole climbing, and axe throwing.

Opening ceremonies start at 8 a.m. The competition begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 4:30 p.m. A blasting demonstration takes place at 1 p.m. as the competition coincides with Fleming’s Open House.
The Fleming Phoenix will compete against schools including McGill, University of Toronto, Dalhousie University, Lakehead University, and Algonquin College.

The competition falls under the Canadian Intercollegiate Lumberjacking Association (CILA).
