Fleming Knights host 2014-15 college curling provincial championships

Peterborough ON – (January 28, 2015) – The Fleming Knights will host the 2014-15 Ontario College Athletic Association (OCAA) Curling Championships at the Peterborough Curling Club Feb. 12-15, 2015.

Twenty-two teams from nine colleges will vie for OCAA gold medals in Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Curling divisions.
Round-robin play will begin at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12 with the opening ceremonies following at 2 p.m. Round-robin play will continue until Saturday evening with the playoff rounds and finals on Sunday, Feb. 15.

About Knights Curling
The Fleming Knights Curling teams are looking to return to the podium for the first time since 2011-12 (men) and 2009-10 (women). Prior to these years the Knights had shown dominance in both divisions. The men’s team medaled four straight years with two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal. The women’s team was even more dominant with eight years of medals in a row. They had three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals during that stretch.

About Peterborough Curling Club
The Peterborough Curling Club, located at 2195 Lansdowne Street West, Cavan Monaghan, ON K9J 0G5, is one of the oldest curling clubs in Ontario. Created in 1859, the club joined the Ontario Curling Association in 1876. The Peterborough Rink has shown to be very community oriented as it offers many services to the Community and providing a home for both the Fleming Knights and Trent Excalibur curling clubs.
