Fleming College welcoming hundreds of future students to Open House

Published

Fleming College will welcome hundreds of future students and their families to its Open House on Saturday, April 2.

Open House will take place at Fleming’s campuses in Peterborough, Lindsay, and Haliburton from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day.

The event allows prospective students to learn more about all aspects of life at Fleming College – from programs to services to financial assistance.

All day activities include campus tours, residence tours, and the opportunity to meet with faculty and students. Guests can also find information on student services, Athletics, meal plans, student life, and much more. The college will also host three different information sessions on Financial Aid, Housing, and Transitioning to College for Students with an IEP.

Students and faculty from various programs will host interactive demonstrations through the day. These will include:

  • The construction of a two-storey house in the Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre (Sutherland Campus)
  • Blasting demonstrations at Frost Campus
  • The opening of the Irregular Journeys exhibit, which focuses on the challenges faced by refugees coming to Canada (presented by the Cultural Heritage Conservation and Management students at Sutherland Campus)
  • Live art demonstrations in the studios at Haliburton Campus

“Our Open House event, which we host twice a year in the spring and fall, is a great opportunity for visitors to learn more about attending Fleming College,” says Carrie Truman, Manager of Student Recruitment. “Speaking directly with faculty members and current students helps prospective students decide on which program is the right fit for them. Along with the information provided by our many student services, guests can explore campus life and the welcoming community that exists here.”
