Fleming College to host International Student Welcome and Cricket Match event
Fleming has more than 200 international students enrolled at the college, and to welcome them to Canada, Fleming is hosting the International Student Welcome and Cricket Match.
On Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., International Student Services and the New Canadians Centre are hosting a cricket match on the baseball field of the Peterborough Sports and Wellness Centre. Fleming students and staff, the Peterborough Cricket Association, and visitors from Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College in Mumbai will be attending.
“The event is an opportunity for Fleming’s international students to meet members of the Fleming and Peterborough community,” said Amanda Gray, International Student Services Coordinator at Fleming. “It is also an opportunity for students from India to teach our community members about one of their most popular sports. It’ll be a fun event and our students are really looking forward to it.”
