Fleming College Partners with MyCreds for Plumbing Apprenticeship Micro Credential Certificate

Published

Peterborough, ON (November 30, 2022) – Effective today, workers who complete a Plumbing Apprenticeship Level 3 Advanced program will now have 24/7 access to their certificate in their own virtual credential wallet.

Fleming College is one of 10 Ontario post-secondary institutions participating in a Virtual Skills pilot project with MyCreds™. MyCreds™ is a one-stop credential wallet for post-secondary documents like certificates, transcripts, awards, and graduation credentials.

“This new pilot program gives workers instant access to their credentials, completely eliminating any wait times or delays,” said Fleming College President Maureen Adamson. “This kind of instant access to your credentials is crucial when someone is applying for a job or working toward a promotion.”

Through MyCreds™, students will be able to access and share their academic documents with other colleges and universities, government, employers and third parties securely and conveniently. Documents issued through MyCreds™ are tamper-evident and cryptographically signed, making them authentic and official.

Fleming College is in the process of developing several micro-credential programs and launching with MyCreds™. Developing programs include eight micro-credentials in Virtual Reality, five in Digital Marketing and 26 in Sustainable Community Food Production.

“Fleming College partnering with MyCreds™ represents a commitment to providing students with greater autonomy over their credentials and enabling learner mobility,” says Charmaine Hack, project chair of ARUCC MyCreds™ and Vice President, Strategic Enrolment Management at Centennial College. “We commend Fleming on their dedication to providing exceptional service delivery and innovative technologies to learners through the Virtual Skills Pilot project.”
