Fleming College Announces 2012 Alumnus of Distinction Award Recipient

The Fleming College Alumni Relations Office is thrilled to announce that the 2012 recipient of the Alumnus of Distinction Award is Mark Law. The prestigious award is given to an alumnus who attains outstanding career success and professional achievement.

The Alumnus of Distinction Award will be presented to Mark by Fleming College President Tony Tilly during the Frost Campus convocation ceremony at the Lindsay Recreation Complex on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 2 p.m.

Mark, a Geographic Information Systems – Applications Specialist program graduate from the Class of 1994, is the Principal Product Manager for MSN Social and Search at Microsoft. His remarkable career in digital mapping includes developing sustainability practices for the Zambezi River Basin in Africa and co-writing the patent for electronic mapping. He has led product teams for MSN Maps and Directions, Yahoo! Maps, MapQuest as well as leading geo-targeting and behavioural targeting technologies for Yahoo!

Mark was also a College’s Ontario Premier’s Award – Technology Nominee in 2011.
