Doors open to future students at Fleming College’s Open House

Peterborough ON – (April 1, 2015) – Fleming College will welcome hundreds of future students to its annual spring Open House on Saturday, April 11, 2015.

Open House will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all campuses of the college in Peterborough, Lindsay, Haliburton and Cobourg.

Visitors can meet with faculty and students, take a tour, and learn more about financial assistance, student life, and housing. Program demonstrations will be taking place throughout the day. Here are just a few of the events happening at each campus:

– Sutherland Campus – Tour the new Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre and take in trades demonstrations; sample the baking taking place in the Culinary kitchen lab; tour the new Skills for Justice Scenario Lab.

– Frost Campus – Arboriculture students will be demonstrating tree climbing activities; Resources Drilling and Blasting and Blasting Techniques programs will be performing blasting and drilling demonstrations;

– Haliburton Campus – Interact with students during live art demonstrations as they work in their studios;

– Cobourg Campus – Tour the campus spa, run by students in the Esthetician program.

“Choosing a post-secondary destination can be a difficult decision. Fleming College’s Open House provides an opportunity for prospective students to come see our campus community, become familiar with our services, and have all of their questions answered in one place,” said Carrie Truman, Manager, Student Recruitment. “It also gives us the chance to meet future Fleming students, something we always look forward to at our Open House events.”
