College Information Program visits Fleming College on Oct. 8
Fleming College will welcome hundreds of secondary school students to its Sutherland Campus this week as part of the College Information Program (CIP).
CIP is an annual tour organized by Ontario’s 24 public colleges that allows local students to learn about college programs and the careers available to graduates. Fleming will host CIP on Thursday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre.
CIP visits all regions of the province. The program provides students with information about the more than 600 programs available at colleges. It also provides many of the other details that students need, including:
- Opportunities to pursue combinations of both college and university education.
- Details about campus life and student housing.
- How to pay for college education.
As part of CIP, the Picture Your Future tour will also visit the Sutherland Campus (in the KTTC) from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday. The event, run by Ontario’s colleges, uses green-screen technology to take students’ photos in an array of career settings.
Picture Your Future is a fun and interactive way for students to see themselves in career settings such as firefighting, broadcasting, game development, business, nursing, aviation and more. The event promotes the numerous and varied career opportunities available to young people through a college education.
