Frequently Asked Questions

How will I find my class room?
Classroom assignments can change until the last minute. You will always find posted information near the main entrance of your campus. At Brealey, look for a digital information board above the information desk in the lobby. In Lindsay and Cobourg, you will find room numbers posted on boards in the lobby. At the Bonaccord Street campus, signs are posted near the entrances.
What text books do I need?
Many courses, including online courses, require text books. You can order/reserve them ahead of time via our Peterborough bookstore at 749-5530 ext 1654. In most cases, the book store will be open on the first day of your course so that you can pick up your copy. Cash, debit, VISA or MasterCard are accepted. For information about books required for Lindsay Campus courses, please call 705-324-9144 ext 3359
Is there a parking fee?
At Brealey, you can park in the Pay-And-Display lot for $3.00 per day, longer-term passes are available - please check at the information desk.
Lindsay: Pay-And-Display until 3pm. No charge after that time
Cobourg: Free parking
How do I know if a course is cancelled because of bad weather?
If the weather makes travel dangerous, we will issue announcements via your local radio stations. Our switchboard will likely be jammed with calls about the matter. If there is no public announcement you can assume that your class is going ahead. If you decide not to attend, just let your instructor know at the start of your next class so that you can get caught up.

If we cancel a course for any other reason we will do our best to contact you via telephone. When registering, always be sure to check that we have your most current phone number and email address.
How do I withdraw from a course?
All withdrawal requests must be made in writing. You can fax this to 705-749-5507. You can also withdraw in person at the Brealey Drive, Bonaccord Street and Lindsay campus locations.

For in-class courses of two weeks or less in length: If you withdraw any time up to 14 days prior to the start of class you will receive a full refund, less a $25.00 administrative fee. If you withdraw later than 14 days prior to the start of class there is no refund of fees.

For courses greater than two weeks in length: If you withdraw any time up to the start of class you will receive a full refund, less a $25.00 administrative fees. If you withdraw later than the start of class there is no refund of fees.

For online courses: You can swap into another course or drop your current one until up to 10 days past the start of the course. A $25 administrative fee applies to drops. There is no refund possible after that time.
I can't find one of the courses I need for my certificate in your printed calendar.
Our printed editions include only upcoming courses for the period covered by that calendar. Therefore, courses offered only in the Fall will not appear in our Winter/Spring listings. You can download a past calendar copy from this web site or call us for information.
Where can I find more information about how your Continuing Education online courses work?
You can find a complete information site at www.flemingcollegeonline.com/ontariolearn . This includes information to help you decide if online learning is for you, tips on how to get the most out of your online learning, books and exam information, as well as registration and log-in direction.
How do I find out my grade?
Upon completion of any graded course, we will mail a printed transcript to you, showing all your courses and grades to date.
