Published

Peterborough, ON – August 30, 2012 – For more than 40 years, Fleming College’s Haliburton School of The Arts (HSTA) has offered dynamic and creative arts programming. Every year more than 3, 000 students enrol in arts courses offered in Haliburton, Toronto and Huntsville– and now HSTA will be expanding its programming into Peterborough this fall.

Beginning September 15, 2012, HSTA will offer 24 courses at Fleming College’s Sutherland Campus. To introduce the launch, HSTA has partnered with ARTSPACE to create a pop-up gallery, entitled “Create It in Peterborough.”

The opening reception for the mini-exhibition, which features a selection of work by HSTA faculty, will be held at ARTSPACE on 378 Aylmer N, Peterborough, on Sept. 14, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Create It in Peterborough will be on display from Sept. 15 to 25, 2012, and is held  in conjunction with ARTSPACE’s Member’s Exhibition. This event is free and open to the public.

Peterborough and the communities that surround it are rich with creative talent, and HSTA is excited to meet the demand for more arts based training. Course length ranges from one day workshops to weeklong courses, and will be taught by HSTA’s renowned faculty, including: Rick Fines, Steve Rose, Paul Portelli, Wendy Bateman, Susan Watson Ellis, Ramune Luminaire, Heidi Hudspith, Fay Wilkinson, Amanda Brittin, Jane Bow, Matthew Mancini, Rose Pearson, Susan Fisher, Kim McBrien, Bruce Lepper, Cassandra Wyskowski and Ed Hagedorn.
