Fleming Board of Governors Seeking Applications

The Board of Governors of Sir Sandford Fleming College is seeking individuals from the City of Kawartha Lakes with volunteer board experience and business/professional skills for a three-year term commencing September 1, 2012. An awareness of postsecondary education issues and an ability to evolve relationships that will build and support Fleming College are desirable assets. If you believe you could make a strong contribution to the governance of Fleming College, please request an application by e-mailing the Board Office (mimcfadd@flemingc.on.ca).

The Board provides the College with community-based governance through impartial oversight. It is comprised of both external and internal members. The Board is responsible for strategic leadership and plays a vital role in shaping Fleming’s strategic direction and mission while ensuring public accountability.

There are eight Board meetings per year, and members must commit to attendance expectations. Governors are also required to serve on one Board committee each year. From time to time, members may be required to be involved in additional committees, projects or events.

All members are volunteer representatives and receive no honorarium for service.
