Winter Orientation welcomes new students

As 2009 gets underway, Fleming College will welcome 700 new first-semester students to all campuses next week.To help these new students get accustomed to life at Fleming, the Sutherland Campus will offer Winter Orientation sessions on Monday, January 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.Orientation will include sessions on essential services for students, and an overview of the Learning Commons, including help navigating the college Intranet. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with faculty and program coordinators as well as their student advisors.Tours will be available throughout the day and an “Ask Me” desk will be set up in the main foyer. Volunteers will be on-hand from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to answer inquiries and direct students to the various sessions. Students will also have time during Orientation to arrange for their financial aid, student identification, books, parking passes, and meal plans.About half of Fleming’s full-time programs offer January starts in addition to September starts.
