Sustainable Building program seeks partners

Published

The Sustainable Building Design and Construction program (SBDC) at Fleming College is seeking partners for its fifth year of designing and building award-winning and unique sustainable structures. The program works with community organizations and/or local governments to fulfil their building needs while offering students the opportunity to construct a state-of-the-art sustainable facility.Under these partnerships the client organization receives subsidized design costs and virtually no labour costs for a building that will function with extreme efficiency and attract a great deal of public attention and funding opportunities.Past partnerships include:• The Municipality of Dysart et al (Haliburton): to build the 4Cs Food Bank and Lily Ann Thrift Store in downtown Haliburton.• Kinark: to build the Kinark Outdoor Centre, a sustainable learning centre at Kinark’s 250-hectare education facility north of Minden.• The Municipality of Minden Hills: to build R.D.
