Open House for new construction projects

Published

Fleming College is inviting its neighbours and  the public to the Sutherland Campus to learn more about two projects that are underway to support Fleming’s students and the community.

All are welcome to attend an Open House on the Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre and the Fleming Sport Complex projects. The Open House is taking place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 3 in the Galleria Wing of the college, 599 Brealey Dr. in Peterborough.

The Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre (KTTC) is a facility being built at the Sutherland Campus. This new learning space emphasizes partnerships with local industry and regional school boards, creating pathways to careers in technology and the skilled trades for secondary and postsecondary students and adult learners. Construction on the 87,000-square-foot facility started in July and is expected to be open for classes in fall 2014.

The Fleming Sport Complex is a partnership with the Fleming Student Administrative Council, the City of Peterborough and local soccer clubs. The complex will feature two artificial fields for soccer, rugby and field lacrosse, and a field house with change rooms and washrooms. Construction on this project will start in the spring and will be completed for fall 2013.

At the Open House, members of the public can review plans for both projects. Project consultants and college and city staff will be on-hand to answer questions and hear feedback.

Please note this event is happening at the same time as the college’s Fall Open House for prospective students.
