New students receive Fleming College scholarships

Fleming College will honour 28 first-year Fleming students at a reception for recipients of the college’s Academic Excellence Scholarships on Thursday, October 4 at 4 p.m. in Fulford’s Dining Room at the Sutherland Campus, 599 Brealey Dr. in Peterborough.Established in 1998 by the college’s Board of Governors, the scholarship program recognizes outstanding academic achievement among students in the local school board districts as well as students who have excelled academically in specific disciplines. The scholarship provides each recipient with $2,000 toward one year of full-time study. This year’s recipients are from City of Kawartha Lakes, Durham, Haliburton, Northumberland, Peterborough, and Simcoe.
