The Fleming Knights extramural powerlifting team was awarded the title of Strongest Team following a successful competition at Sheridan College in Brampton on Sunday, November 25.
The extramural powerlifting team is in its second year of operation at Fleming College. Despite being a relatively new sport for Fleming, the powerlifting team continues to rank highly in competition. Last year, the team was awarded Second Strongest Team, motivating them to further their training and take home this yearâs Strongest Team title.
With 10 athletes representing Fleming, nine of those placed in the top three in their respective weight categories. Fleming was awarded male and female MVP. Flemingâs menâs powerlifters were awarded Best Overall, Best Squat, Best Bench and Best Deadlift. Likewise, Flemingâs womenâs powerlifters were awarded Best Overall, Best Squat and Best Deadlift. Fleming Knights womenâs powerlifters dominated the womenâs 63 kg category placing first, second and third. Fleming Knights menâs powerlifters placed first in menâs 83 kg, first and second in menâs 93 kg, second and third in menâs 105 kg, and first and second in menâs 120 kg.

We are fortunate to have such a passionate team who support each other and understand the dedication needed to reach our goals. We, the coaching staff, are proud of the teamâs commitment to their sport and their drive for results.â
