Published

Fleming College will join with Ontario’s 23 other colleges to participate in the annual Ontario College Information Fair (OCIF) on Oct. 19-20, the largest event of its kind in the province.

OCIF allows prospective students to speak with college representatives and gather information on degrees, graduate certificates, diplomas and apprenticeship programs, all in one location.

The fair, which will take place at Enercare Centre, Exhibition Place (100 Prince’s Blvd., Toronto), drew more than 11,000 high school students, adult learners, teachers, guidance counsellors and parents last year.

Admission is free. OCIF will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 19 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m on Oct. 20.

The popularity of Ontario college programs continues to grow as students recognize the many benefits of a college education – flexibility in intake and program delivery, innovative programs, and numerous opportunities for applied, real-world learning.

According to ontariocolleges.ca, colleges are leading technology and workforce development, and are preparing their students for success in current and future career opportunities.

Facts about Ontario colleges:

  • 88 per cent of graduates would recommend their specific programs
  • International enrolment is continuing to increase, with more than 28,000 international students in 2014-15.
