Fleming College Esthetician program to be offered in Peterborough
Peterborough ON – (April 2, 2015) – In an effort to improve services for students and enhance the student experience, Fleming College will offer the Esthetician program at the Sutherland Campus in Peterborough.
The program is currently located in Cobourg but will move to Peterborough starting in September 2016.
The Esthetician program is a one-year compressed diploma program that allows students to complete two years of study in 12 months. There are 24 students currently enrolled in the program. Many of those students and applicants to the program are from the Peterborough and Kawarthas region.
“We believe this will offer our students an improved student experience with the availability of a full array of services and residence options at the Sutherland Campus,” said Tony Tilly, President of Fleming College. “We also can offer a greater opportunity to sustain and grow the program.”
The college expects to see academic benefits and cost efficiencies through clustering the Esthetician program with related Health and Wellness programming offered at the Sutherland Campus. Essentials, the student-run spa, will also move with the program.
“Academic Upgrading and Continuing Education courses will continue to be offered in Cobourg, and the move will further allow us to focus on growing opportunities within contract training and non-traditional programming partnerships,” said Tilly.
