Continuing Education Opportunities at Fleming College Offer Students Chance to ReInvent

Published

Peterborough, ON – August 12, 2010 – Learning to acquire new skills or pursue a new interest has never been easier through Fleming College’s School of Continuing Education and Skilled Trades.

Registration for the Fall programs is now available at www.flemingcollege.ca/reinvent for both traditional in-class programs at all Fleming campuses and an expanded array of online options.

“Continuing education is becoming more accessible with a larger selection of certificates and courses becoming available online. With both traditional in-class and online options available, students have greater choice and flexibility in pursuing further education and reinventing their career path or personal interests,” said Lucy Ellen Kanary, Dean of the School of Continuing Education and Skilled Trades.

Online learning offers students the flexibility to learn at their own pace at any location where they have access to the internet. For example, through OntarioLearn, students can access structured, accredited courses led by college faculty that offer certification at 22 Ontario colleges.

Fleming’s certificate programs are a series of courses available both in-class and online that have been developed in partnership with professional associations, agencies and businesses to offer current and relevant training that employers require.

Certificates are offered in areas including business, healthcare, community services, technology and skilled trades. Courses and certificates are also available in new and unique areas of interest and vocation, such as motorcycle training, languages, cooking and a variety of arts courses at our Cobourg campus.

Fleming’s new Sustainable Trails, and recently expanded Computer Animation and Game Development courses offer new opportunities in growing fields.
