Explore the timeless art of stone carving, now accessible with modern tools and techniques. This course introduces sketching, shaping and perfecting sculptures in a relaxed setting. Familiarize yourself with traditional tools like chisels, saws, files, rasps, rifflers and sandpapers. Explore various stone carving methods and types, with an emphasis on using angle grinders as a modern tool. You'll have the freedom to choose your subject, select the right stone and work at your own pace. No prior experience is needed for this hands-on traditional art adventure, open to all who want to explore their creative side.
A $195.00-$255.00 material fee ($75 for tools and will vary from $120-$180 depending on size and type of stone) payable to the instructor will be needed on your first day of class
