The Real Estate Broker Program is for active real estate agents who are currently registered with the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) and aspire to continue their education to become a registered real estate broker. Register for the Broker Qualifying Exam to start the process.
If you are not a registered real estate agent in Ontario and are interested in starting a career in real estate, you must first complete the Real Estate Salesperson Program.
Successful completion of the Broker Qualifying Exam is a requirement to getting started with the Real Estate Broker Program. The Broker Qualifying Exam is designed to test working knowledge on the key areas involved in the trading of real estate in Ontario and is three hours in duration.
After completing Step 1, you are eligible to begin Course 1 of the Real Estate Broker Program. This step includes four courses, one wrap-up session, and a final exam—all of which must be completed in sequence.
Upon successful completion of the Real Estate Broker Program, you will meet the education requirements for broker registration. Please refer to the RECO website for additional registration criteria, including experience requirements.

Additionally, applicants must disclose if they are under any active sanctions by RECO, or another College. Applicants with active sanctions from RECO will require approval from RECO to be offered admission into a program.
If an applicant has completed the salesperson program with the OREA Real Estate College, they must have completed courses in both real estate law and commercial transactions to qualify for this program. If the applicant has not completed the required courses, they must complete equivalencies before enrolling in the Real Estate Broker Program per below:

All Real Estate Broker Program learners must successfully complete the Broker Qualifying Exam prior to completion of required eLearning components.
