Pre-apprenticeship Electrician Information Session
The new, FREE Electrician Pre-Apprenticeship program starts March 30, 2020. Get job-readiness training, carpentry tools and training, and a paid job experience for your skills toolbox.
This is a 32-week program that requires Grade 10 to be eligible. It begins with in-class instruction, job readiness training, and secondary trade training in carpentry (eight weeks). It then progresses to electrician training (12 weeks), and concludes with a paid work placement (8-12 weeks).
Due to space limitations, ONLY those interested in the program and registered to attend the information session on February 25, 2020 will be admitted. Registration for the information session will ONLY be open from February 17-23, 2020.
Please bring with you:
- A cover letter stating why you are a good candidate for the program
- A current resume
- Copy of your high school (or equivalent) and/or post secondary transcript
No late submissions will be accepted.
The program is open to high school graduates, early school leavers, unemployed, and underemployed youth and adults. EI eligible and non-EI eligible, women, Indigenous peoples and newcomers to Canada are encouraged to apply.
When you complete this program you will have the equivalent of Level 1 (Basic) Electrical Apprentice, job experience, the skills to search for and find employment, or pursue a full apprenticeship.
