Welcome Days return to Fleming College

Published

Peterborough ON – (July 16, 2018) New students starting class in the fall have the opportunity to “get a jump on September” by attending Welcome Days at Fleming College.

Hosted by Fleming’s Student Services and Student Life department, Welcome Days help incoming students feel connected and ensure students are well informed before returning for classes in September.

Fleming staff and student leaders will be on hand to answer questions about residence and housing, financial aid, athletics and recreation, learning support services and career services. Incoming students enjoy special sessions about student life and ways to get involved on campus. Parents enjoy a session about ways to support the student transition to college life.

“We have received positive feedback over the years about our Welcome Days as a great way for incoming students to familiarize themselves with Fleming services and support,” said Greg Jefford, Manager, Student Life and Athletics. “Students leave Welcome Days feeling better prepared and overall part of our Fleming community, and parents appreciate the genuine care and quality of service provided. We are confident that those who attend Welcome Days are more likely to succeed with their transition into college life.”

Welcome Days take place at Sutherland Campus on July 16, 18 and 20. At Frost Campus, Welcome Days are set for July 16 and 20. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. each day with a welcome session beginning at 9:30 a.m. Close to 1,000 students and their families are expected to attend.
