Peterborough ON â€“ (December 6, 2019) â€“ Investing in Peterborough Regionâ€™s aviation and aerospace sector was the driving force behind the Provincial Governmentâ€™s funding announcement at The Loomex Group on Dec. 6, 2019. Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development, and Dave Smith, Member of Provincial Parliament for Peterborough â€“ Kawartha announced that the province will invest $1.5 million over two years in the Peterborough areaâ€™s aviation and aerospace sector, creating up to 100 local training and career opportunities.
â€śThe Provincial Government has created jobs and unlocked potential in the aviation and aerospace sector, which will have a profound impact on Peterborough and surrounding region,â€ť said Fleming College President Maureen Adamson. â€śFleming College is very proud to be part of this announcement and work alongside industry partners to train local talent, and provide the skills industry needs to put jobs first.â€ť
Fleming College will work with local partners such as Flying Colours Corp., Safran Electronics and Defence Canada, The Loomex Group and Team Eagle Ltd to create curriculum to provide individuals with employable skills and technical training focused on the aviation industry.
